The Cultural Services of the Embassy of France in the U.S., in cooperation with the Department of International Languages and Cultures at Arizona State University and the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, are organizing a 14-day professional training workshop in French for International Relations. Register.

11 days of guided individual work

Eligibility
Ph.D. students, lecturers, associate professors, professors and assistant professors from American universities willing to implement a curriculum in professional French are invited to apply.

Maximum number of participants : 20.

Course description
Designed by the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the course is a hands-on training in curriculum and teacher preparation for French for International Relations classes and is structured as follows:

  • Distinguishing the specificities of FLE (Français Langue Etrangère - French as a Foreign Language) and FOS (Français sur Objectifs Spécifiques - French for Specific Purposes);
  • Implementing FOS;
  • Designing a framework for a French for International Relations / Diplomacy courses;
  • Designing educational activities using authentic documents;
  • Assessing students in French for International Relations.

The workshop is held in French.

Non-refundable registration fee: $50

Please note that the training session is free for teachers coming from the Arizona State University.
