Centers of Excellence

The Centers of Excellence represent a support network for the Embassy of France, our closest partners enabling us to share experience, reflect upon the influence of French on US campuses and develop transatlantic relationship between universities.

Twenty universities throughout the United States have been selected as members of the “French Embassy Network of Centers of Excellence” and will receive yearly financial support and project-based support to fund a wide variety of activities.

The Centers of Excellence of the Embassy of France, housed at 22 major research universities in 2019, foster Franco-American debates on today’s crucial issues, promote Franco-American relations through interdisciplinary teaching programs, encourage public-private and research partnerships with France; and innovate to encourage student interest in France, the French language and francophone literature. The network of Centers of Excellence supports the French Embassy’s presence in the academic world.
